Christine DUPUY, among her constant and numerous awards, got a great rating in the August 2007 DECANTER Magazine for both of her Madiran.
Her 2004 Vintage Domaine LABRANCHE-LAFFONT Cuvee Vieilles Vignes, rated 4**** Highly Recommended - "Best Value Madiran" : brooding spice and oak. Complex blend of flavors. Ripe, crunchy, psicy fruit. Excellent balance. Up to 8 years.
For info, the Vieilles Vignes was 2nd best wine out of 40 tasted, the 1st one being 54.99 pounds and Domaine LABRANCHE LAFFONT 9.95 pounds!
The same article also rated 3*** Recommended - the 2004 Vintage Domaine LABRANCHE-LAFFONT Cuvee Tradition : Leathery fruit. Savoury, earthy and pruney. Balanced and supple tannins. Very attractive and characterful. 3 to 5 years.
The 2004 Cuvee Tradition, still on sale, is showing magnificently right now, very fresh with some menthol touches, soft, round tannins, and a great length of ripe black fruits. A wonder.
